Unite The Clans! Do It Now! Part II

Robert Kuttner in the September issue of the American Prospect put it brilliantly, “We have been spared a depression only thanks to the portions of The New Deal that conservatives did not manage to repeal.”

Amen to that brother.

Conservatives, what financial geniuses they are! These are the same disingenuous money-mad charlatans who recently were assaulting Capitol Hill to get Congress to make it nigh-on-impossible for little people to file for bankruptcy! These are the same greedy mountebanks who say that if you take 30 days to pay a credit card instead of 15 they can up your interest rate to a loan shark’s whopping 30%! These are the same low-lifes who claim that some mythical “free-market” should decide the fate of the economy and that the government has little or no role whatsoever to play as referee.

Why? Because they don’t want anything or anybody to stand between them and your money.

And now they come with blunderbuss and fury to their lapdogs in Congress demanding a bail out! Bailing them out, of course, goes against everything conservatives say they they stand for. But as we know, any claim to a philosophical underpinning to the conservative agenda is just pure bullshit. They don’t believe any of their own rhetoric, and they never have.

(Conservatives, you should remember, fought like tigers against The New Deal, even while banks were refusing to open their doors to their depositors because they had squandered all their depositors’ money. They fought rural electrification in the 1930’s; they were also against urban sanitation in the way of plumbing in the big cities. Conservatives fought the New Deal hardest when it contained anti-lynching legislation. What a great bunch of white guys!)

Conservatives don’t believe in Liberty, a Free Press, Fair Elections, Education, Democracy, Environmental Protection, safe and affordable Health Care, Equal Rights for women, any of it. Any conservative who says they do advocate any of those things is either lying, or stupid.

What do conservatives believe in? Getting rich and paying no taxes. Period.

And they don’t care who or what they trample in the process. The Constitution? They don’t understand it, they haven’t read it, and they don’t believe in it. America? You’ve got to be kidding me. These conservative turncoats and cutthroats wave the flag like crazy jingoist nationalist goons while they sell their country down the river to the first bidder. Freedom? Tell that to the families of murdered labor organizers in South America. Peace and Prosperity? Gimme a break, all conservatives care about is war profit and a divided population of a few rich (them) and a lot of have-nots (you).

Do conservatives believe in a Free Market? Don’t be silly, there is no such thing, and they know it. The premise is simple, a free market will decide in a brutal Darwinian fashion, who succeeds and who will fail. But it never actually happens that way does it? For as long as moneyed interests can go to government and get themselves declared unaccountable for their crimes, malfeasances and mismanagement – see Three Mile Island, the Telecom 9-11 pardon, and a jillion other examples – there can be no free market. A Free Market is actually an impossibility because the rules of the marketplace are too easily manipulated, changed or simply not enforced.

The Free Market concept is as utopian and unworkable an idea as Marxism, and for the same reason, too much power in too few hands.

So, now, under the wise and benevolent tutelage of conservatism, we now give the military, the arms industry, and their relative intelligence agencies one trillion dollars a year, we are also spending another trillion on a war that has no explanation for existing in the first place, (and anyone who suggests anything to the contrary is a traitor or a terrorist.) And now the current Conservative standard bearer, John McCain, in the first presidential debate says he would freeeze all government spending, except of course, for the military, because one trillion a year just isn’t enough. Feel safe yet?

Now these thieves, carpetbaggers, liars, warmongers, and heretics are demanding yet another trillion dollars from the taxpayers to bail them out of their own self-made financial crises. It would be funny if it weren’t so tragic.

Meanwhile our society is denied high speed trains, clean energy, reliable public transportation, a clean environment, a solid infra structure, a healthy economy, a streamlined and viable civil defense; we can’t protect ourselves from crazy weather, or crazy religious fanatics, or rapacious corporations, any of it. Why? Because conservatives have stolen all the money, destroyed all our hard earned credit, and commandeered the national agenda to only prioritize their own greedy ends, and completely debased our proud culture from top to bottom. They’ve even attempted to sell the idea that torture is okay. And believe me friends; if it’s okay for foreign terrorist suspects, it will soon be okay for the political opposition at home as well.

Conservatives are pariahs; they should be shunned, forced into caves, and not let out until they rethink what it is they have to offer a world they have practically destroyed, with their guns, their filth, and their greed.

The greatest criminals in human history will prove to be the conservatives who stood in the way of doing anything about global warming for the last 70 years. I’m sick of them. They should be going to jail by the thousands for Hatch Act violations, voter fraud, and financial crimes. Obama, it’s time to unsheath that terrible swift sword.
